Fire Warden / Marshal Training

What the law says (shortened version): Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

“The responsible person must, appoint one or more competent persons to assist him in undertaking the preventive and protective measures”.

Fire wardens / marshals have a role to play in assisting with the day to day management of the general fire safety precautions & procedures

The course covers the following subjects & more as part of our training:

  • Overview of fire legislation & responsibilities.
  • Fire growth.
  • Evacuation & roll call.
  • Different techniques for ensuring building evacuation.
  • Knowledge of the testing regimes for fire safety equipment.
  • Fire extinguisher checks.
  • Fire classifications/types.
  • Extinguisher classifications.
  • Extinguisher types.

Duration: 4 hours for up to 6 delegates, additional time required for practical if more delegates on course

Fire Awareness Training

What the law says (shortened version): Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
“Suitable and sufficient instruction and training on the appropriate precautions and actions to be taken by the employee in order to safeguard himself and other relevant persons on the premises”.

Our objective for fire awareness & extinguisher training is to ensure that the persons trained understand not just how to operate a fire extinguisher but to also understand how the extinguishing media achieves this.
We cover the following subjects & more as part of our training:

  • A respect for fire & its potential for harm.
  • Fire growth.
  • Fire classifications/types.
  • Extinguisher classifications.
  • Extinguisher types.
  • The fire triangle.

Duration: 2 hours for up to 6 delegates, additional time required for practical if more delegates on course
